Sanjay N. Rao, MD
Dr. Sanjay Rao received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Brown University Medical School. He then went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Doheny Eye Institute at the University of Southern California. Dr. Rao later completed a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Following his fellowship, Dr. Rao served as the Director of Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the University of Chicago. As an experienced cataract and refractive surgeon, Dr. Rao is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is an active member of multiple professional societies, including the Chicago Ophthalmology Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Dr. Rao is proud to provide those from Chicago, and surrounding communities, with the highest level of eye care possible.
Dr. Rao specializes in LASIK surgery, small incision cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, excimer photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), phototherapeutic keratectomy (PTK), and corneal transplantation, as well as Intacs® implantation for keratoconus. Additionally, Dr. Rao offers BOTOX® Cosmetic and Restylane® treatments.
Dr. Kaori Asano, OD
Dr. Kaori Asano received her doctor of optometry (OD) degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2006. She went on to complete a clinical residency at the Illinois College of Optometry/Illinois Eye Institute in primary eye care with an emphasis on ocular disease. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Asano continues to serve as a part time attending optometrist/clinical instructor, overseeing students in patient care. She has received several honors for her clinical work. These honors include the Alcon clinical excellence award and being named "Next Generation of Optometry Leadership" by Vision Monday magazine. Throughout her clinical experience, Dr. Asano has worked in a variety of private practice and hospital settings specializing in contact lens fittings and the treatment and management of ocular disease. She is currently an active member of the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association, National Glaucoma Society, and the American Public Heath Association.
