The IntraLASIK Procedure

Before beginning the IntraLASIK laser vision correction procedure at our Chicago practice, Dr. Rao will pre-program the desired corneal flap position and depth into a computer software program. This will ensure that the laser creates a precise corneal flap. During the procedure, the IntraLase® laser will move back and forth across the eye’s surface, using pulses of light to create the flap. Once the flap has been created, Dr. Rao will fold it back and use an excimer laser to reshape the corneal tissue underneath. He will then put the flap back in place so it can heal.
