BOTOX® Cosmetic at Our Lake Forest and Highland Park-area Practice
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified botulinum toxin that is injected into facial muscles and prevents them from contracting, thereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles. BOTOX® injections are often used to treat “crow’s feet” at the corners of the eyes, as well as frown lines between the eyes and on the forehead. The treatment only takes about an hour to complete and the results generally last for several months, after which time touch-up treatments can be performed to maintain results.

Restylane®
Restylane® is an injectable dermal filler that plumps up the skin in order to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and also hydrates the skin, for a healthy, younger-looking appearance. Because it is made of hyaluronic acid, a substance which occurs naturally in the body, the risk of an allergic reaction is reduced, and the effects of treatment typically last longer than other dermal fillers. Restylane® treatment generally takes less than an hour to complete at our Chicago practice. Like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane® results will fade over time, but additional treatments can be administered in follow-up visits to our office.
Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty, commonly known as eyelid surgery, is a cosmetic procedure designed to rejuvenate the area around the eyes by reducing puffiness, as well as sagging and drooping eyelids. Blepharoplasty can be performed on lower eyelids, upper eyelids, or both. During the procedure, Dr. Rao places thin incisions along the natural folds of the eyelids and, if necessary, the region under the eye. Through these tiny incisions, Dr. Rao is able to remove excess skin and fat and recontour the area to make the eyes appear younger and more alert. The blepharoplasty procedure can be completed in one visit to our Chicago office serving Lake Forest, Highland Park, and other areas. Although the effects can fade with time, blepharoplasty is a nearly-permanent way to completely rejuvenate the appearance of the eyes.
